About Us

Club History

Coastal Clash was formed in 2011 by Analia Loevenguth to grow the sport of field hockey. She was dedicated to making field hockey more accessible and to provide a platform helping players reach their full potential. Ana built a strong foundation for so many young athletes throughout San Diego County, many of which have had the opportunity to play at colleges around the US. After dedicating 5 years of hard work as club director to grow Coastal Clash, she decided to pass the torch in late 2015. She is still part of the Coastal Clash family as a valuable coach on our staff.

In October of 2015 Amanda Combs took over the role of club director in partnership with Tucker Warford. They share the same vision with Ana of providing an opportunity to all and plan to grow the club to reach even more young athletes.

Our Philosophy

A Field Hockey Club For Everyone

Our philosophy was born from a noticeable lack of playing opportunities in San Diego. We repeatedly heard of young athletes wanting to play field hockey, but didn’t have the right place to go. We hope Coastal Clash can fill that void.

We recognized there are many clubs in San Diego, most of which are connected directly with one high school organization and focus on girls who are of high school age. We wanted to do things differently. We have always welcomed middle school field hockey players and now accept athletes as young as 4th grade. We also recently started encouraging boys to join our club as well. We believe this diverse participation will benefit everyone.
